Our next speaker meeting ‘Down the Canal’ is on Thursday 25th June.
Barry and Gill Goodman will tell the story of Britain’s canals in words, pictures and song.
A look into the history of Britain’s canals, the builders, the life of the working community, the decline of the working boats and the revival of the waterways in recent times. The presentation will be illustrated with photographs, archive pictures, music and songs.
The meeting will start at 7.30pm, doors open from 7.00pm, at the Walkern Sports and Community Centre.
Everyone is welcome, £3 for non-members. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available.
