2017 Glebe Farm Test Pit Digs

On 16th July 2017, two simultaneous archeological test pit digs were executed on the Glebe Farm Site. The site can be found at the field opposite Glebe View.

The first dig quickly hit a layer of chalk, this is considered the “natural” and the end of that dig.

The second dig, revealed the foundations of a dwelling. Hearth stones were also found, enabling the inside of the dwelling to be identified.
None of the finds were considered to be earlier than 18th century
